Apparently I like ruffles! So when I found this great tutorial from Make It Homemade for a ruffled baby quilt I was so inspired I had to make one!! I picked my fabrics and got to work (apparently I like polka dots too!). I adjusted the width of the strips for maximum elephant placement, but followed Palak's tutorial closely for constructing the quilt. I finished mine with a ruffled edge.
The ruffles get easier every time I make them. I bought a ruffler foot online for a good price and it works great! It took some time to get used to...but it helped immensely when I finally decided to read the directions and oil it just like the directions told me! Imagine that.
My first quilt label! I made this quilt for baby Mariella as a shower gift. Make sure you see the blogpost about fun pink camouflage cookie favors we made for her special day here.
Go make something!

That is just the funnest quilt ever! Brings a smile to my face just looking at it. Great job. And hey - what's that about reading instructions? You mean it pays to read instructions? Guess I might have to pay attention to that tidbit of advice sometime . . .
ReplyDeleteHaha Barb!! Yup reading directions actually works!! Who knew? I am glad the quilt makes you smile, I hope it makes Mariella happy too!!
