I was a very busy bee this weekend! Usually in the summer I am traveling back and forth to Jersey but this weekend I got to stay at my apartment and work on some unfinished projects. It was hard for me to not get out and enjoy the sun but some of these project were in desperate need of attention!
Some things I accomplished this weekend:
#1. I cut ALL the pieces for the Swoonalong 2013 project! I'm pretty far behind as you can see if you check out the Flickr Group. Even though this is a very low pressure group I'm still feeling the heat! There are so many beautiful Swoons completed and it inspired me to get started on mine. So far everything is cut and now whenever I feel the need to sew something together I can just grab the pieces and get going!

#2. I made some more chevrons for the nautical chevron quilt I've been working on for the last few months. I hit a small snag because I didn't have enough fabric to complete all the chevrons needed but now all materials have been acquired! This will be one of my first large scale quilts. Not only is it the biggest quilted project I've ever done but the design is completely mine. It's not the most original but I'm still proud of the idea!

#3. I finished the bindings on all of the Sailboat Wall Hangings! These projects are finally completed! I hit a major mental block on quilting them but when my mom was here last weekend she gave me the boost I needed. And now they are 100% D-O-N-E!

You have inspired me to get my bleep together and cut those Swoons! I few minute here and a few there--and I might get caught up too. Your boats are GREAT!!! Love those fabrics too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Helen! I haven't sewn any of the swoons together yet but it's nice to have them cut! I also love Tula Pink's nautical fabric!
